Hi,

Due to the trouble I had with with my TP link I decided to have one from Virgin (VMP6742748) which works fine. But as I had two extenders previously (WA850RE) I am trying to get them to link in with the new one with no success. Does anyone know if they are compatible please?

Regards,

Tony

@TonyD

From the led status, you failed to configure the extender.

Please reset it by holding the reset hole for 1s with the extender powered on first.

Then you can follow the instruction below to configure the extender.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/tl-wa850re/#video

Note: Please use the wifi password of VM hub to set it up.

After that you can check the led status and verify whether you can get internet.

Still the same, please login to the web UI of the TL-WA850RE and show us a screenshot of the status page.

Note: How to login: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/931/

May it help and have a nice day.

@TonyD

We will do further analysis to locate this issue and try to figure it out.

What is the led status of the TL-WA850RE? And what is the hardware and firmware version, which you can find on the web UI of it?

What is the model number of the main router? And what bout the hardware and firmware version?

Please login to the web UI of the extender and get a screenshot of the settings-status page and export to us.

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

Hi Kevin, Many thanks for your reply. Being very non-tech I can supply you with the following. Model of the Virgin Router is Hub 3.0. One of my original TP extenders is Model TL WA50RE and when plugged in we have a steady power light and a flashing wireless light. Sorry for the limited info and thanks for your help. Regards,Tony
