Hi, I've only recently installed a TP link WPA8630 kit and was very impressed, so decided to extend the system.
I bought an additional 8630 extender and paired it to the existing system.
I then placed the extender into the room with poor reception, all the led's work although I can link any device to the extender as it's password isn't recognised 😫

ive tried the password on it, my networks password, all states incorrect password.
move even reset it and tried again, now I'm lost and can't understand what's wrong???!?
the extender shows up as an available network, although it won't accept a password to join it?!

@Timneedshelp

The default wifi password is printed on the back panel, which is 8 digits numbers.

Except the troubleshooting you have done, try to use the tpPLC utility to reach the wireless password; and you can customize it. Below is the instruction to get it and modify it.

The download link of the tpPLC utility is https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/tl-wpa8630-kit/#Utility

Best regards.

@JERSEYELITE732

Hi, I got around all the issues by doing the following:-

diwnload the TP app (it's pale blue in colour and called TP plc)

then go into the app and it will identify your TP link device as an active device.

if you then go on the setting page, it will show you two power lines/ one being the 2.4ghz and the other bring the 5ghz channel.

click on which one you want a device to Sync to and it will show you the password for that channel 👍

therefore each device you want to link to your TP device will use the channel password on your TP link App. Hope that all makes sense
