TL-MR6400 constantly resetting itself

Model: TL-MR6400
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.6.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 181022 Rel.40644n

The router is using an LTE sim and is connecting mostly via 3G (no LTE in our area).

It resets itself several times per day losing all settings and reverting to its default configuration.

What could be causing this?

@Diversions

Please use the original power adapter.

What is the led status of this TL-MR6400 when it reset itself automatically?

Have you had this issue before? When did you buy this router?

Have you ever tried to reset it manually and reconfigure it to give it a go?

Besides, try to change another sim card.

Any updates, please let us know.

@Kevin_Z

Thank you for your response.

1. I am using original adapter.

2. No, this is the first time I've been having this issue.

3. I bought this router on 28 December 2018.

4. Yes, I've reset it manually back to factory settings and reconfigured it again, manually. I've kept a copy of the config so that whenever it resets itself, I can just restore from the backup.

5. Yes, I've swapped two different sim cards, same thing would still happen.

Two days ago, I found an unknown android device connected to the router. I have a secure password that I never give out, but I still found an android device logged in. I blocked this device based on MAC address and it has not reset since then.

I think this router has vulnerabilities that allow it to be logged in despite security. So far it's been running fine for 48 hours now without problems ever since I banned the MAC address.

Hmmm. Not a very good sign. Never had this problem with my other routers (different brand).

@Diversions

For the unknown Android device issue, we have not received any similar feedback, and generally speaking, the wireless devices need password to connect to the wifi network.

You can verify who it belongs to by its mac address;

Besides, if the router reset itself again, please do not restore the configuration file, instead, try to set it up manually. After that you can take some time to test the performance.

Good day.
