Deco M4 slow speed
Hello all!
I have installed 2 deco M4 units. I have a 500Mbps connection. When I plug the ethernet cable that feeds my main M4 node (that comes from the router) directly to a laptop I can get 499Mbps, but when I connect to the main M4 node with an ethernet cable I only get 160 Mbps, is this normal? Also wifi connection with the laptop (AC1200) near the main M4 node I can't get more than 150Mbps on 5Ghz, is this normal too? The firmware is the latest...
Thanks

After experiencing slow speeds I just switched the ethernet cable to a different port on the router and it solved the problem

Hi, i just solved all the problems by installing the Main Deco at 5 meters of the provider router and speeds become the same as the main router.
Also change the limits on the Deco app to 1000mb download and 100mb upload.
It really worked for me, i was already thinking in return the Decos. Now im satisfied with the product

I have the same issues.
I have a 500mbit connection and i use a FritzBox 6591 Modem+Router. If i connect my PC via cable i get 530mbits. If im close to the router with my phone or my macbook i get 500mbit +/- via 5ghz Wifi. My main node only gives which is connected to my FritzBox via cable gives me 250bit if im close to it with my device and also on the deco app. The max rate between my pc and the deco is set at 850mbit. So the main node itself gives me only half the speed. My 2nd deco (slave) is located in my office and is 3m away from the main node. If i connect my PC to the original 5rghz wifi of my router which has 3/4 bars connectivity i reach around 430mbits. With my slave deco i get only 160-200 and it has 4/4 connection. Shouldnt this one provide a better connection than the wifi of the router? My 3rd deco is in my living room (arround 10m from the main node and accross the wall of my 2nd deco). Here i get 160-200 mbit aswell.
What i tried:
- Change main deco with slaves
- use different cable
- set DNS to 8.8.8.8

Hi. I have the exact sane problem. Have 1Gb speed connected directly, and 240Mb using M4 (wired or wireless I have the same speed).
It used to work fine. I changed nothing and now it's working at this speed.
Had anyone been able to fix this problem?
Any other suggestion except switching decos, disabling QOs and changing DNS ?

I have same issue with M4. tested every possible configuration and the only way to get 400 mb is directly connected on ISP modem. M4 gives me only 30 mb. So frustrated

Hi, welcome to the community.
if testing the Ethernet connection directly to the main Deco M4, is the speed still about 30m/s?
Can I have a detailed picture about your network layout?

@Fer2022 M4R is product which TP-Link don't like to support. They want to flood the market as many prototypes they can.
You can't do anything, they will say the problem is in your topology and will ban you from support chanels.
They don't like to take responsibility for their products.
I have exactly the same problem.
