Model: Archer VR900
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 0.4.0 0.9.1 v0069.0 Build 171128 Rel.42667n

We have a VR900 that's less than a month old. When wireless is enabled, everything grinds to a halt. If I reset wireless in anyway, reboot or something, it comes back for a while.

If I turn off wireless altogether, LAN based internet is fine and stable.

It seems to be when more than 1 wireless connection exists, but I'm gobsmacked if that's intended behaviour.

Firmware is latest.

Factory reset also tried.

No torrenting occuring, just basic run of the mill browsing, if anything at all.

Can anyone help please? Thanks.

Does it happen on both 2.4 and 5 GTZ? What I would try is change the SSIDs and connect one wireless device at a time to see if one of the devices is causing an issue. Could be an old device connecting in 'G' mode or a device hogging the bandwidth. Also try specific WIFI channels and widths instead of AUTO as you may have interference from other devices using that channel but not WIFI such as security cameras, phone systems, weather stations,...

@ArcherC8 I've pretty much tried all that except for channels.

Yes, it happens on both bandwidths.

On 2.4g i set it to only N mode.

I'll try forcing channel id and width.

We have:

Mac Book Pro
I-Mac

Android Tv
and 4 phones.

Still, the fact I have to do this is pretty ordinary.  We have no security system or anything, and we live rurally, so no neighbours.

@mkaaaay

Hello, sorry to respond late.

May I know does this issue occur no matter which device you have connected to the TP-Link WiFi?

What is the led status of the Archer VR900 when you lost connection? With your device connected to the TP-Link Wi-Fi, please click here to get the IP address and gateway.

Try to ping the gateway of the Archer VR900, which is 192.168.1.1 by default; at the same time, can you get internet from the Archer VR900 by wired cable?

Please login to the web UI of the VR900 and show us a screenshot of the advanced-status page.

Good day.
