Hi,

I want to use this TL-SG1005D switch to transfer files between two PCs which both use windows 10. The switch will not be connected to a router. I plugged in the power and the new Cat VI ethernet cables from each PC to the switch. on both PCs an "Unidentified Network" with an ethernet connection is showing up in the Network and Sharing Centre, but for Access Type: it says it "No network access."

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks

@John99

Hello, the TL-SG1005D is the unmanaged switch, it cannot assign IP address to those devices which connect to it by wired cable.

To make these two PCs access each other, you need setup static IP for both of them. The IP can be 192.168.0.x, gateway is 192.168.0.1, subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.

May it help.
