Major Deco M5 HW version confusion!
Ok. So I just had my main node crash and refuse to come back up and was forced to hard reset it and re-setup my whole network. I'm supremely annoyed to find out that there's no config backup mechanism. What? How the heck does a product like this ship without a config backup? Nuts! But that's a rant for another day. I came here looking for clarification about my hardware version to seek possible firmware upgrade options (to maybe fix the above annoyance) and now I'm super confused. The web interface (and app), see picture below, says "M5(1.0) 1.3.1 Build 20190617 Rel. 47476". So that's HW v1.0. Cool. Checking for updates via the app says I'm up to date and manually checking the support page for HW v1.0 indeed says that is the latest. However, twist! I check out the sticker on the underside of my M5 and it says CA/2.1. That means it's actually HW v2.1. What is this nonesense? There's no v2.1 to select in the combo and the latest v2 FW release is of course different than the v1 FW. So what M5 do I have? v1 or v2 or what? Why is the HW not properally identifying itself to the FW to get the correct update? Is the SW reporting of model M5(1.0) only so because it was incorrectly shipped with v1 FW? Have I been scammed? What. The. Heck? Please advise.
