Hi there, I recently installed the kasa smart dimmer. I love it. Such a cool product.

 

I'm having a problem where when I have the dimmer at 50 percent, that's the least amount the bulbs (60W daylight Philip's LED dimmable ) will go. At 49 percent or lower the bulbs are completely off. I've reset the switch, removed it and added it again and tried to do the auto calibrate several times. Am I not calibrating it properly? From 50 percent to 100 percent it dims perfectly, but I'd like the lights to begin to turn on at 0 percent.

 

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

May I know the brand and model number of your light? and do you have any other LED or Incandescent to have a test? A short video would be great if it is still the same. Have a nice day!

Hi Marcia, thanks for the response. I can try to take a video with the wife's phone tomorrow? essentially the light is off at 49 percent, and as dim as possible at 50 percent. These are the bulbs I have, unfortunately I dont have any other bulb to test.

Thanks, it will be ok to take the video tomorrow. Would you please also check the dimmer type of your bulb? This switch belongs to Incandescent/Halogen (forward phase control), based on TRIAC.

It isn't Intuitively obvious, but the calibration occurs within the app itself under the device settings - calibration. When in the calibration mode, the slider is not an up and down slider, but a tap on top or tap on bottom of the "slider" depiction/control to make the light brightness go up or down. Again, this calibration is performed within the app.
