WiFi roaming in deco x20 access point mode
I have Ethernet cable connect different rooms in my home. I am going to create a seamless roaming WiFi network. Can I just buy deco x20 and setup it up as access point mode for WiFi roaming? My existing router can still serve as a router.

The seamless roaming happens only among Deco products because they support the complete 802.11k/v/r roaming protocols.
Your existing router can still serve as a router, however, it's recommended to disable its Wi-Fi network so that your client will roam seamlessly between Decos only.

But, the question is, if you connect each Deco with ethernet, set each as access point, here the point of using the ethernet is to assure fast and reliable connectivity to the router.
With this setup, will you still have fast roaming? will the Decos still follow the 802.11k/v/r roaming protocols ?

Hi,
Are the Ethernet cables go to different rooms all from the same router? If so, when Deco works in the AP mode and connected to the Ethernet cable, they can also build one mesh network and follow the 802.11k/v/r roaming protocols.

Yes, all Deco's would go to different rooms using ethernet cat 6 cables, all comming from the same router.
So, is this behavior by default (fast roaming following 802.11k/v/r roaming protocols) even in AP mode?

My x20 deco's are in Access point mode, but when I connect my non-main deco's to the same switch a get een loop error... It looks like the don't act as Access point.

Hi, thank you very much for your kind feedback.
Could you please send me a picture of your network diagram from ISP router to Deco X20?
And what are the model number of the main router and the network switch?
As for the loop error, where did you see this error, on the switch?
Thanks and wait for your reply.
