E4 not connecting on higher speed

I recently purchased a set of Deco E4 units. It connected easily and worked well. At the time, I had a Fibre connection with 40mbps download and 20mbps upload. The E4 units were operating at the same speed as the main fibre router.
I then upgraded my fibre line to 100mbps down/50mbps up.
However, the E4 units aren't operating at the higher speed. They're peaking at about 60mbps.
If I connect directly to the 5ghz network on the router itself, I get speeds of 100mbps. If I connect directly to the 2.4ghz network on the router itself, I get speeds of about 50mbps which makes sense.
But the E4 doesn't go above 60 even though it's been set to connect to both 2.4 and 5. Even disabling the 2.4 option doesn't remedy it. It's almost as if though it's unable to use the router's 5ghz network. Fyi, the main E4 unit has a hard ethernet connection to the main router.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be highly appreciated.
i have just had a look on the tp-link deco e4 FAQ and they recomment trying this below;
Case 1:
1. Disable QoS features on the Deco app, set Application Priority as Standard and clear all High Priority settings.
2. Reboot the main Deco and test the speed again.
