Slow & Unstable Archer AX50
Bought & installed the Archer AX50-AX3000 in April (1+ month back). Experience has been very poor.
Internet throughput is worse than my 2 yrs old AC router from SingTel. Using the same machine at the same location, speeds achieved are less than half of that by the AC router. Router is already running the latest firmware. Unit also runs hot.
Did not get better throughput.
Did not get better range.
Did not get better usage experience.
All the reasons for the purchase is not met. Can i get a refund?

Hello, sorry to hear the speed and coverage are not as good as expected, please help verify some details and we will try to fix it together:
1. May I know the model number of your AC router? What is the speed you can get when you connect a computer or phone to it?
2. Without any devices connected, please connect one computer to the AX50 directly and go to speedtest to run the test for 3 times and show us the screenshots of the test results.
And please tell me the wired link speed at that time, how to get that? You can refer to the below link.
https://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-2265.html
3. As per the heat issue you mentioned, please put the router in a well-ventilated location or mount it vertically on a stand that permits the free flow of air, and use a fan to cool the router, a regular fan or USB fan is fine.
4. You can refer to the below instruction to narrow down the issue as well.

1. Model: Archer AX50 (US) Ver.1.0
2. Throughput test (UTP) - 900+ Mbps
3. Throughput Test (5G, 2m away from router) - less than 200 Mbps

I also have a similar problem, always reaching 200mbps at max. I had this problema with Archer C2300 as well. Does TP-Link just produces routers with this throughput? LOL

Same here.
Got the box yesterday and tried with it the whole day.
With wireless, never able to hit 300M at all even though wired connection can goes 900+ on a 1G connection.
Saw a lot of comments with QoS so even downgraded the firmware to 1.06, setup via web browser bypassing the tether app.

It is on standard (max) setting. How can it be disabled? I do not see such an option on the Tether app.

Hello,
On the Tether Homecare page-QoS, check and ensure it is on the Standard Mode, then get back to the Clients' page, check all the clients connected to the router and ensure the High Priority is disabled.
May it help.

High Priority has been disabled since day 2 when i did some testing and realised that it did not improve but in some instances caused slower network connections.
