It should most definitely NOT be this darn complicated to update a router.....

@TP-Link_Deco

I have 64 bit windows.

I entered the site https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/deco-m9-plus/#Utility

I extracted the zip application and ran it.

I put username and password.
When I click on login the following message appears. Incorrect TP-Link ID or password. Please enter again or go deco app retrieve your password.

I entered a virtual machine with the same 64-bit windows, did the procedure and worked normally. Updated deco

@TP-Link_Deco

I just finished the upgrading.

If I use my Thinkpad P50 laptop ( windows 10), it always prompts that the wrong account or password, then, I later replaced te use of macbook, successfully completed the upgrade.

TP-links ought to clarify these issues, and shouldn't lets users stop in front of the upgrade operation.

The newest fireware is really good.

Thanks.

I finally was able to get the upgrade to work although I had to do three times using my Windows 10 laptop.

does anybody know if enabling these three security options affect or slow down the speed or performance of the units or whether having any combination of them turned on makes a difference in terms of performance or speed of the mesh Network?

I had issues logging in to update the firmware until I connected via wired connection instead of wifi. Try it with wired connection.

@TP-Link_Deco

I have tried six (!) Windows 10 computers to run this update on. I have tried wired and wireless. I have also tried running the update tool in several compatibility modes.

I can not get past the log in screen. I am 100% certain that my login credentials are correct. I can use them to log in on the website, so they are accurate and working.

Can you explain here what the problem is? There should be a fix for this, how difficult can it be to update a router...

I see this going on for months now. This is not acceptable behaviour. I just bought three deco M9's due to working at home (covid19). I work at a big IT department on a University. Do you really think I can recommend TP-Link Deco M9 to any of my collegues or students?

You will know the answer to this. Make sure you have some actual support on your products, this is embarrassing!

Richard.
