Hi, I have bought couple of Kasa Smart bulbs and I am happy in general with the lights and the functionality. One feature that I find missing with Kasa bulbs is that there is no possibility to have a party mode or dancing lights or flashing lights. After I did some research on internet I see that with other popular smart bulbs like Philips Hue, it is possible to achieve this kind of party mode using IFTTT kind of apps. I noticed that IFTTT app is compatible also for Kasa Bulbs but when I downloaded IFTTT I couldn't find any feature available to have a party mode or flashing light or anything similar for Kasa Bulb.

 

I think that with a smart bulb that can change colour having a party mode is probably one of the first things that would come to mind of any customer.

 

Could you please develop the party mode or flashing lights or dancing lights kind of feature either through your own Kasa app or via IFTTT kind of app?

Currently, there are not any plans to eventually have party mode for the Kasa bulbs, but this will be forwarded as a feature request to our developers for consideration. 

 

BTW, you may check if the KL430 will help, but it may not be available in all countries:

I also would greatly welcome this feature!! It's one of the reasons why I'm buying Philips Wiz lights for certain rooms of my house. I really like the Kasa Bulbs better, but there's no animated light options, like a Party Mode or other animated features that the Philips Wiz app has.

Yes, this is a feature I would love to see added as well. The fact that lights can't flash or cycle through colors is frustrating. There are so many things you can do with those features, especially since your lights are compatible with IFTTT. I think it would be cool to have the option to turn on my bulb and have it do a quick cycle through some colors. 

 

Please explore the possibility of adding these features, I would imagine alot of people go with the competition because of this missing feature.

@Mr_PP If you're handy with python, you can create a sort of party mode using the python-kasa library.  I wrote a script that picks a random color on the HSV color wheel and applies it to each of my 4 bulbs.  I then wrote an integration in to homebridge using the Script2 plugin and then passed this switch over to Alexa via the homebridge Alexa plugin.  I now just say Alexa turn on Party Mode and the lights light up.  It can be done, but nothing out of the box.

@Mr_PP I agree, that would be brilliant to have a rainbow mode or similar.

 

@ TPlink - if you guys don't implement it someone else will with through your app or a different manufacturer. You'll sell a lot more units if you have first mover advantage.
