Model: Archer AX20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20200326 rel.61977(5553)

Anybody had this issue where your router is plugged in a Gigabit Switch and the port negotiate 100Mbps Full duplex instead of 1000Mbps?

I have the latest firmeware - tried to reboot both my switch and the router but is still at 100Mbps - I have a 200Mbps Internet connexion which works fine on the wireless but limits internet speed when wired.

Any ideas why and how to set it up?

Nothing seem to allow me to force me negociation on the Advanced section.

Thanks,

Edit: I use a cat6 cable.

Hi,

For the LAN negotiation issue you encountered, please help confirm the below details and get back to the community if it cannot be solved, thanks.

1. What is the device connected to this LAN 1 port? It is suggested to change another wired device with gigabit ethernet ports to do a test.
2. what is the negotiation speed on your PC? You may confirm it as below:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2265/

It is also suggested to change another cat5e or above cable.

If none of the above works, please tell us the brand and model number of the gigabit ethernet adapter on that PC, we will check and investigate further, thanks.

@Anurag7108

What is the device and model of the adapter that connected to the LAN port of the Archer AX20? Have you tried to connect other devices with a gigabit Ethernet port to one of the LAN ports of the Archer AX20 to check if the link speed can be 1000Mbps?

Try with different LAN ports, as well as different Ethernet cables, cat5e or cat6 is OK.

@Kevin_Z

Hi Kevin,

I have the same issue here. The problem is that I dont have access to force the negotiation speed on the router UI. version of firmware is 2.1.2 Build 20210901.

I don't have "system Tool" in "advanced" but "system" and there is nothing there to force the speed on the LAN ports.

I m using a cat7 cable to my desktop that has Gb ports. I force the speed on my desktop network adapter but nothing will do, the LAN ports on the router are capped to 100Mbps.

My router is an Archer AX20v2

Thanks

@JacquesD

Hello, have you tried to connect the desktop PC to other LAN ports of the AX20?

Are there other devices with 1Gbps Ethernet adapters? Try other devices to see if this relates to the router or the client device.

You can also connect the desktop PC to the ISP modem directly to check if it can negotiate at 1Gbps. If yes, please tell us the model and brand of the Ethernet adapter on this desktop PC.

  @Kevin_Z

Hello.

I am experiencing the same issue as the rest of the posters. I have a TP-Link Archer AX1800 AX23 that has 1000Mbps on the wan port, but only 100Mbps on the lan ports.

The firmware is the latest update (1.05) as per the router, i have restarted and tried with several different working cables (tested to different router and got full 1000Mbps), but i am unable to change the speed on the router.

I have gone through the suggestion listed on this thread, but the interface on my router is different, so when i go to network map -> click on my device -> scroll down to ethernet status-> there is no options whatsoever.

If i go to the advanced section, and then under network -> internet, i have an option to change the internet port negotiation speed setting, which is set to 1000Mbps full duplex, but there is no option here for any of the lan ports.

I bought this router to extend my wired network up to my home office, but with 500Mbps internet speed, and only 100Mbps from my router, my network is getting seriously capped by this.

edit: The device i am using for testing is my desktop which has an intel i211 gigabit network connection. I connected this machine to another router using the same cable and got full 1000Mbps.

I have also tested all 4 of the lan ports on the router with the same issue on all of them.

Hello @copyrght

Thank you very much for all the details.

Can I know if it's possible to test the LAN speed with another gigabit device? I understand this intel i211 desktop can negotiate with another router at 1000Mbps, and it does support 1000Mbps, we just want to confirm if another device can negotiate at 1000Mbps when connecting to the AX23 LAN.

To assist and figure it out efficiently, I've forwarded your case to the TP-Link support engineers who will contact you with your registered email address later. Please pay attention to your email box for follow-up. Thank you.
