Model: Archer AX50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Archer AX50(US)_V1_200426

Hi there,

My Router does not stay on the designated 5Ghz channel. it keeps switching to channel 36.

It also does not stay on 160Mhz bandwidth. it auto switches to 80Mhz.

I have seen a few posts on this issue so i know im not the only one.

Is there a firmware or manual fix for this?

Thanks,

CS

@CaptainSlow

Hello,

Can you please show me the bottom label on your AX50, which shows the region and hardware version? We will soon check and confirm if we can provide you a beta firmware.

BTW, may I know what is your designated 5Ghz channel? As you know that both band 2 (52-64) and band 3 (100-140) are DFS channels. With DFS channels selected on the router, it will need to do a scan with a local radar all the time. If the selected DFS channel is occupied it will renegotiate to an open and non-DFS channel automatically.

This is not a product issue as all the Wi-Fi devices should obey the local laws and regulations.

Thanks.

We know Band 4 Channel 149/153/157/161 which is the general channel for open .

But we can't see any band 4 channel on the select configuration,

Just Band1 and Band2(DFS)/Band3(DFS).

when AX50 auto jump to channel 149, we use analyse to scan all channel, it's very busy on 149.

can we free to select the channel on the configuration for band4 ?

Thanks!

@PopoBear

Please excuse me in case I misread you question, but you should be able to freely select channels 149, 153, 157, 161 as long as you have not set the "Channel Width" to 160MHz.

That is because channels 149, 153, 157, 161 cannot be used to form a 160 MHz wide channel.

Hi Kevin_Z ! I'm not able to get the free channels(149, 153, 157, 161) from my AX50 router. How could I set up the router the get this channels, because DFS channels are not stable and through me back to 36 very often. Could you help me, please? Of course, I've changed the channels width to 40Mhz and 20Mhz and I still cannot get the desired free channels from this very cool router. Thanks for help!

@gyatti1

Hello, may I know what is the region version of your AX50? If it is the AX50 EU version, it doesn't support band 4 channels (149, 153, 157, 161), which is designed to comply with that of CE regulation.

As for the unstable DFS channel issue, we will contact you via email to follow up, please check your email box and respond if you are willing to do further troubleshooting, thanks a lot~

@Kevin_Z Id like to know if there is current beta firmware as well. I seem to be having some QOS issues as of late. Its just pure luck at this point that even my wired devices get the internet speeds I pay for. Very frustrating.
