Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 Build 20200706 Rel. 8066(5553)

My ISP has native IPv6 support and I wanted to expose some services to the public. Currently, I have port forwarding set up and working for IPv4 address. However, I was not able to get port forwarding working with IPv6.

I have tried disabling firewall and putting the machine in DMZ, and none of them worked.

Is there any way to get port forwarding on IPv6 working with this router?

@Lei6031

Hello,

As far as I know, there is no need to open the port for the LAN server in IPv6 network as it will not work, there is an IPv6 firewall on the AX1500 router which blocks the external access to the server automatically to protect your internal network and ensure its security.

Currently, there is no way to disable that firewall. We will see how to improve this in the future.

Thanks.

@Kevin_Z Another user here, using an AX10 device recently acquired. I just found out about this hardcoded firewall rule preventing my server behind the router NAT from being reachable via IPv6. Very disappointed. The device was advertised as IPv6-ready and I don't think anyone today would dare to call their device "IPv4-ready" if it had no support for something as basic as port forwarding. Yet when it comes to IPv6 this is clearly not considered. Please fix this in the near future!

Is there a tplink product with a firewall configuration that allows the user to open a ipv6 port at firewall? I think there is not a single model with such feature. It's a shame, tplink devices improved a lot in the last years, but this is a key feature. My Archer-A20 does not have this feature too :(

Hello @LeandroBecker, just as replied in another thread below, we have Archer AX10 support IPv6 Firewall now:
