Model: Archer AX6000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20200714 rel.18254

I notice early today that there is new firmware release for my AX6000 which includes support for WPA3 encryption, but sadly I can't make it work with WiFi6 devices, keep getting disconnected and sometimes ask me for wifi password, no big deal for my galaxy phone.

Unfortunately I need to roll-back the WPA3 setting to WPA2 when other 5Ghz (ac) devices having trouble to connect.

Anyone experience this behavior after firmware upgrade?

Thank you @Liverpool20  laugh

It works yes, you save me of more complains from my family; yesterday new firmware out of nowhere dropping all 5GHz devices and unable to switch to 2.4GHz until I reboot router.

Honestly I hate to do recurrent reboots, I came from Linksys to TP-Link hopping to have a more stable router.

Best regards,

Hello,

May I know what is the exact issue with this new firmware? None of your devices connects to the wireless network when WPA3 is enabled? What are those devices? Are they connecting to the 2.4GHz or 5GHz?

What is the error message when they cannot connect to the AX6000 wireless network? Can you please show me the wireless security settings on the AX6000 when the devices cannot connect? You may hide your SSID and password for any security concerns.

Thanks.

Thank you @Kevin_Z for your response

None of the 5GHz devices (laptops, phones, tablets, TV, etc.) connected, only thru 2.4GHz, I have just one device with WiFi6, which try to connect to the AX6000 several times, and after a few minutes connect thru 2.4GHz with very poor signal; sometimes get error "password invalid", even I type again and again correct one, gets reject the connection, after a few turn off-on the phone gets thru 2.4GHz.

Here the WiFi settings that I had:

Smart connect: checked

Hide SSID: unchecked

Security: WPA2/WPA3-Personal

Version: Auto (then I test put just WPA3, but only my Phone connected thru WiFi, only 2.4GHz)

As per your description, all devices can still connect to the 2.4GHz network but cannot connect to the 5GHz any more, may I know the wireless security type for 2.4GHz and 5GHz now?

What if you change the security type to WPA/WPA2-Personal, will the device reconnect to the 5GHz network?

Thanks.

Thanks a lot for your quick update. So the devices can connect to the 5GHz successfully when changing the security to WPA/WPA2-Personal? Please monitor the connectivity and let me know if there is still an issue.

Thank you @Kevin_Z, good day

Yes, devices are able to connect thru 5GHz using WPA/WPA2-Personal, but with this new firmware for WiFi6 devices takes a lot more effort to connect (~10-30 seconds) than previous version that connects in a split of second.

By other hand, WPA3 will be stable/usable in near future? and in the meanwhile there is a way to rollback to previous firmware version?

Thanks in advance

Hey, I find something interesting for you, bro:

As per SteveMoz, this official firmware should be downgradable by some commands, good luck.
