Model: RE305
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 20200212 Rel. 67183

The Modem/Router is set to channel 36 for 5 Ghz and it´s not possible to change it, on the other hand, the RE305 assigns differents available channels and It´s not possible to get connection 5 Ghz. In this case channel 157.

How can I configure channel used by RE305 to channel 36? If it´s not possible. What is the recommendation about the Router/Modem configuration?

Modem/Router Info:

ARRIS DOCSIS 3.0 / PC 1.5 Touchstone Residential Gateway
HW_REV: 10
BOOTR: 4.2.0.45
SW_REV: 9.1.103DV8N
MODEL: TG2492LG-NA

@rodval75

Good day.

Thank you very much for your patience.

Since there is no option to manually change the wireless channel of RE305, so you could try to modify the wireless advanced settings about ARRIS modem/router to be channel 40 or 48;

By the way, when you run the quick setup, are you able to detect the ARRIS router’s 5ghz?

Thank you~

@Solla-topee

Good day,

Thanks for your response.

The ISP (internet service provider) has lock the field of 5 Ghz channel, the default channel is # 36 and it´s not possible to change it.

1.- After a reboot of the Arris Modem/Router the RE305 can detect without issues the 5 Ghz network.

2.- After a few hours, the RE305 loses 5 Ghz connection and a new channel is assigned, for example: 56, 153, 161 or others.

When this happens the RE305 is no longer able to see the 5 Ghz network, and cannot see it through a scan network.
After this a new reboot of the Modem / Router is required.
That is why I was wondering if there is any recommendation for the configuration of the Modem/Router to work with this king of repeaters.

Thanks.-
