Model: Archer MR600
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 200511 Rel.44954n

Hello,

some weeks ago I bought this amazing router. Browsing through the functions I noticed that several details are missing.

Fortunately there are already other thread that cover them (and related beta firmware), but I have not found anything regarding "System uptime".

Is it possible to view it? Maybe in an upcoming firmware?

Thank you very much!

@ironmanc

Hi, I am afraid it is still not available.

And may I know why do you need this feature?

Thank you very much.

Hi and thank you for reply. I think it is useful to have the system uptime, also to measure the reliability of the router. I am a developer of RFID device drivers and I find it very useful to have the basic information in the frontend of your devices

@ironmanc for the MR600 V1, the 'reliability of the router' is pretty much dependent on using the daily automatic restart option! The router rarely crashes/spontaneously restarts, it just slows down and stops working reliably after a couple of days, all uptime will tell you is you're overdue on rebooting.

@JerryAtrick Hey, do you know why it slows down? also could it be that the restart option is broken? because since I activated it the router just got worse and worse day by day and I still have to restart it manually! (V2)

@niemals_sebi can only speculate, if TP-Link know they aren't saying (or fixing it).

It usually means bad memory management. On the MR600 that's compounded by not having enough RAM to start with & not enough CPU power for all the things it's trying to do. Turning off the modem only extended the time before it crawled to a halt for me which strongly suggests running out of memory.

I can't help but wonder if that woeful lack of hardware resources is why they can't seem to fix the many bugs, I wouldn't have kept my job long turning in code this buggy.

I dumped it for a cheaper replacement (not TP-Link) that does more, does it faster/better and hasn't crashed in the weeks I've had it. With single digit CPU load% it barely gets warm, unlike the MR600.
