Model: TL-PA9020P KIT
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: unknown

I love these things when they work but 2-4 times each year they randomly stop working, and I spend upwards of 1-3 hours getting them back up.

I have a "base" (plugged into router via ethernet) and 3 more I use in various rooms for the purpose of directly plugging in ROKU's. I have the little tp-link ap on my computer which is about as robust as something designed for windows 3.1 :). When they go "offline" I usually have to go retrieve them, which involves moving furniture, crawling on my belly, etc. and bringing them down and plugging them into an outlet in the same room as the one I'm using for a "transmitter". I've NEVER been able to use the "push the button for one second" method and instead have to copy and paste the 16 digit number and use the "add a device" feature in the tp-link program on my PC. This time nothing is working....Anyone else have this trouble? I know there's a REASON they stop working but I just don't know what it is.

USE "Tether" app on S8 -- rarely goes awry but when does, use tether app. If won't connect, use pen or pclip to "reset" (top or bottom next to ethernet port)
can use as access point or range extender (so access point means it's getting signal thru the powerline

@hotwired

Good day.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Did all 4 wired adapters have the same unstable issue?

When the problem started, would the 2nd powerline light still lit up?

Have you checked with a computer when the adapter stopped working, what is the IP address and default gateway?

Have you tried to update the firmware of all the TL-PA9020Ps?

By the way, how long have you had the adapters and when did the issue start?

Thank you very much.

@Solla-topee

Great questions! I'll try to answer best I can.

First, I'm using the words transmitter and receiver simply to describe my system. That is, I have ONE plugged into ethernet directly from my router which is used to "transmit" the internet through my wiring system to the other 3 I have plugged in

1. curiosly when the problem happened, I took ONE of the 3 "receivers" and unplugged it and brought it down next to the "transmitter" in the same room & I've repeatedly tried to connect them. Curiously, SOMETIMES, I can get the ONE connected for a short time. But the MINUTE I try to connect a THIRD, the sECOND one disconnects and I'm back to sqare one.

2. I've had them 1.5 years, and they're still under the warranty. I may need to just send back for refund. I actually have another tp link product (TL-WA850RE or AV1300) which simply acts as a WiFi booster or extender, so that may be all I need.

3. I don't what "check with a computer" really means. I did attach a screen snip of a CMD window for you.
