Hi all, sorry to respond late.

The Archer AX11000 doesn't support Sky MER DHCP option 61 - 60, we only have the DSL modem routers can work with that.

@Howkins554

As far as I am aware TP-Link only supports this via pre-programmed ISP profiles that some of their routers provide.
So for example, if you had such a router and your internet service provider was "X" and requires DHCP option 60 authentication, then you would choose "X" from the ISP list and the router would be configured accordingly.

Do you already own the AX11000 and urgently need to get this to work?

@woozle I have the AX11000 and I can't find the Sky MER option anywhere, but it is there on my Archer VR2100... but I want to use my AX1100 as my main router 🙄

@woozle  hi. Thanks for your reply. Yes I have bought the AX11000 and currently have it linked to the sky router via Ethernet cable so 2 SSIDs in the house as can't get the sky mini box to use tp link ssid.

If the Web GUI of the AX11000 doesn't provide any means for configuring DHCP option 61 - 60 for your ISP, then your only option left might be to try to make all the necessary changes to the router's '/etc/config/network' file directly by hand.

However, this would be no easy undertaking. First, you would most probably need to install some beta firmware version for your router model that allows you to log into the router via Telnet (or even SSH) to get a command-line to its Linux OS. Second, you would need to find out (Google) what exactly you need to put in the 'network' file to make it work. Third, there is no guarantee for success.

Hi @woozle,

Cheers for that, but I wouldn't even know where to start looking for beta firmware, certainly the firmware I currently have won't allow me to connect via telnet. I get the "Could not open connection to the host, on port 23" message. Can't even find any open source firmwares for this router either.

I can't understand why this option is available on the cheaper router models like the VR2100 but not the AX11000. Looks like I've paid nearly £400 for what will effectively be a brick for the next 12 months whilst with NowTV.

At least I now know never to contract with Sky/NowTV and to steer clear of TP-Link devices going forward, at least the VR2100 can go back to Amazon 👍

Cheers for your guidance on this though 🙂

I have just bought this same router and I am on Sky Fibre. I was assuming that this router would have Option 61 due to its high price. Are there any guides to get this working with Sky Fibre. I have bought the DrayTek 130 modem to use in bridge mode. But I am at a loss. Would appreciate any help.

Hi @WelshSossy, you and me both 🙄

TP-Link support have responded back to me telling me that their top of the range £400 router (Archer AX11000) does not support the 3rd largest ISP in the UK (Sky/Now Broadband), and their is no alternative firmware that does support this. I'm extremely disappointed to say the least. There is also no open source firmware available for this router (e.g. DD-WRT) so no option there either.

So, if you plan to ever use Sky or Now TV Broadband then steer clear of TP-Link's premium expensive routers, as they'll be about as useful as a brick while under contract with your new ISP.

@Howkins554

Will it be added in upcomming firmware?

Option 60 is also needed for other providers.
