RE305/300 with DHCP "off" feature
I was using RE210 and TL-WA860RE, where there was an option to turn off DHCP in the repeater (wireless).
As I'm upgrading to RE300 and RE305, I've realized that this option is missing.
Please provide a firmware where this setting will be restored, otherwise I'll have to go back to older devices to keep my smart home devices from breaking.
Thanks.

Good day,
Thank you very much for your time and patience.
Sorry for the delay.
Since our extenders are using smart DHCP, once it detected there would be another DHCP server and it would turn off its own server automatically;
And if you did not want to use the smart DHCP, there is a workaround:
Manually configure the DHCP server on the extender, such as

I've tried and below is my finding:
"Since our extenders are using smart DHCP, once it detected there would be another DHCP server and it would turn off its own server automatically"
- It seem to be a hit and miss, some of my extender seem to detect and some did not, while connected to the same router.
"And if you did not want to use the smart DHCP, there is a workaround: Manually configure the DHCP server on the extender"
- After setting and restart, it did not stop the DHCP server in the log. But manually toggling it between automatic (and save) and manual (and save) again, did finally stop the DHCP server.
So far the workaround method works for me, but hopefully (and preferably) in the future firmware update there will be a forced on/off feature.

To add on, after a few restarts on the extender (RE300), the DHCP server auto started by itself even it was on a workaround setting. I have to toggle the auto (and save) and toggle (and save) again to stop it.
This seems to be a bug, I haven't restart the RE305 yet but can you please get your engineers to look into the issue in both devices?
I don't want to keep manually toggling the settings every time it self-started the DHCP server by itself.
Thanks.

Good day,
Thanks a lot for your time and patience.
We would like to follow up your case by email and please have a check of your email box later;
At the same time, could you please help me check the following information:
- What is the model number of your main router?
- How did you find out the RE305/RE300 still worked as a DHCP server even though we manually set up the IP address?
- Have you checked the IP address and default gateway when the devices are connected to the RE305/300?
Thank you very much.

1) The main router is Ubiquiti EdgeRouter ER-X
2) The system log stating "DHCP server started", and never stopped after that.
3) Yes, following the router VLAN gateway IP address and DNS server.
I've decided not to pursue this issue as it seems that even the log stating "DHCP server started", my devices are somehow connected with the IP address defined in my router's DHCP static IP map.

Good day,
Thanks a lot for your time and patience.
Now, we have the beta firmware for RE305 v3 which could fix the current issue, and please check your message box to have a try.
Thanks a lot.
