Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Liking the camera so far (the quality is great) but when I'm logged in to my VPN I can only access the RTSP stream. The app won't work. The app only works when I'm actually at home and not through my VPN. The camera is blocked from direct internet access.

Sad that PTZ only works in the app.

Sad that the app can't connect through VPN.

Sad that there are no email notifications.

I know it's advertised as a "Cloud camera" and the price is also great but I feel like having everything locked into your app/ your cloud is holding the camera back.

Oh well, at least we have RTSP :)

@Randybobandy

Good day,

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Sorry for the delay.

Are you able to access the Tapo camera on the 4G network via Tapo APP?

Since the remote control was enabled by default, so you should be able to access the camera over VPN;

Did you reset the camera and set it up again before?

Have you tried to turn off the firewall on the home router and change the DNS server to be 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4?

 And as for the PTZ over ONVIF, email notification, I am sorry that it did not support yet.

Thanks a lot.
