Hello, thanks for asking.
As dk61 stated, it is currently not allowed to change the channel manually on the Deco network. While we will implement a Network Optimization feature on the newer firmware on the Deco device, which we think will solve this channel selection issue, please wait for the new firmware and pay attention to the Deco app.
Good day.

Any news on the Network Optimization feature?
I'm ready experiencing poor speed multiple times a day. On good times 100+Mbps to as low as a horrific 10 Mbps. (Al devices with a cable connection are perfect most of the time).
My Sonos speakers loose connections at least couple times a week.

Hi, I can see your current model number is Deco M5 which has supported the network optimization already.
So Was your current issue that the network optimization did not stay on the clear channel all the time?
And could you please download a Wi-Fi Analyzer Tool on your cellphone to check wireless channel interferences around;
Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply.
The problem is that i don't have a reliable connection/speed. Some times it's fast, most of the time it isn't.. Only cabled device are stable and speedy. With my SONOS i experience system drops outs. All of this is very annoying and frustrating... even more frustrating is that most websites and forums say it's probably to crowed and therefor suggest to change the channel, which isn't possible with the deco systeem.
Which Wi-Fi Analyzer tool do you recommend (preferably iPhone)?
Yesterday i checked signals between deco's and moved the third one a little bit closer, but no luck.
To paint a picture of my situation
Main Deco is in entrance hall (where the modem sits) separated by simple door (glass/wood).
Second Deco is 1st floor open in hall open stairs approx 8m, 6m in straight line from main deco
Third deco is in living room in an open space approx 10m from the main deco in a straight line and approx 6m from the second deco. No big obstacles.
WiFi signal between deco’s in deco app is 2 out of 3 no big obstacles
WiFi signal MacBook couldn’t be better
WiFi signal iPhone 2 out of 3 / 3 out of 3
Below are random Speed tests :(
21.03.15

Sonos is making me crazy
21.03.14
Livingroom Beam and in the kitchen Symfonisk (approx 8 metres apart from each other)
Beam plays constantly, Symfonisk constantly drops from seconds to minutes. Other day's it can be the other way around.
Sonos say’s try other channel :’( which isn’t possible with the TP m series…

I found with my M5, its WiFi speeds improved when I separated 5GHz from 2.4GHz. Tested with my smartphone before and after, saw substantial difference.
If you haven't done that, this is how: disable 2.4GHz on Main Network. If your Sonos or some other devices need 2.4GHz, enable Guest Network, set it with different SSID from Main, password protect it and only enable 2.4GHz on it. Have these devices connected to Guest Network SSID.
This is my WiFi Settings page in Deco app:

Thanks for the tip much appriciated but, to be honest this shouldn't be the solution imho.. i bought this mesh for a out-of-the box good, sollid and fast network. If i must create other networks to solve the issues i could have just stayed with my previous setup and saved me some $$$ and a lot of frustration.
But let's say i would set it up like you suggest would that mean i only can control Sonos, tv, Spotify connect, etc if my control device is connected with the guest network?

Hi,
There is also a new firmware for Deco M5 and you could try to update the firmware to have a look:
https://static.tp-link.com/2021/202102/20210219/Deco_M5_V1_V2_V3_210203.zip
As for the separate guest network and main network, it would be recommended to connect the smart IoT devices to the 2.4Ghz guest network(and if possible, please turn off the Mesh technology on these devices on the Deco APP);
And leave the smartphones and laptops on the 5Ghz and Mesh enabled;
As for checking the current Wi-Fi interference, you could try to use NetSpot or WiPry 2500x;
Thank you very much.

Hi @Alexandre. It's been a while... still frustrated with the deco's i tried to setup like you advices, i started with a security can which works like a charm. But if I put my Sonos system on the guest network I only can control them if the control device (smartphone) is also needs to be on the guest network, right?

How can this possibly stil not be implemented? I've paid a fair amount of money on Deco kit over the last few years (currently running a mix of X20s and M5s) and I'm now giving up. They'll be on ebay soon and I'll just go with the Asis ZenWifi I think where you can actually admin things on your own network.
This is basic beyond all belief, it's embarrassing that i can't change the channel when its obviously a core feature that would make a massive difference.
i like TP stuff normally (just bought a bunch of Kasa kit) but this is now unforgivable.
