Model: Archer MR200
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.17.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 200526 Rel.36799n

Hi,

I would like to connect my Archer MR200 v4 to an another router, as can do via WAN port, but wirelessly.

I saw on the emulator that the older version of the same device (Archer MR200 v1 and V2) has the "Enable WDS Bridging" option in Wirless > Advanced Settings but seams that this feature is no more avilable.

Does it deprecated ? Is there a way to activate it on my v4 device? is it possible to downgrade to the previous version?

Thanks in advance,

Miki

Hello, thanks for asking.

TL-MR200 v4 does not support WDS Wi-Fi bridging, so I am afraid that there is no way to use it in that way.

So sad to hear that! Thank you for your answer. Let me ask you, which of your devices do you recommend for this purpose? I need to connect some devices without wireless to a new router that it in a different room (no way to cable them directly) Let's says that I need "a switch that use a wireless network as WAN"

Hello, thanks for asking.

If you want to extend the wireless range of the new router, it is suggested to get a range extender, such as RE505X or RE300, you may refer to the below website to choose the most suitable one to work with your router:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/home-networking/range-extender/

Just a quick note, it is suggested to choose a higher signal rates than that of your wireless router to get a better performance. For example, if your wireless router is an AC1200, it is suggested to choose an AC1300 or you may choose AX1500.

I hope this helps.

@Kevin_Z sorry to bother you, but I'm not sure that a wifi extender fits my requirements:

1. I see that RE505X has only one LAN port (RE300 doesn't have it at all) and I'm not sure that I can use it to attach my device to it ( Does it only works as WAN port ? )

2. I would like to receive the WiFi signal from the main router but I don't want to repeat it (that I suppose is the main purpose of an extender device)

Hi, the Ethernet port on the range extenders can be connected to the devices that you want to extend the internet to, you may connect it in this way:

Main wireless router ))))(((((range extender-------PC or TV

))))))((((( stands for wireless

----------- stands for Ethernet cable

While if you don't want to repeat the signal, you may choose the access point devices, such as WA901ND, which can be used as a client mode, then you can plug it into a PC and make it work as a network card:
