Hi!

 

I have a setup with a TV box, a computer and a raspberry-py all connected to a tplink switch with IGMP that works fine with a old D-Link powerline, but it's slow.

 

Just bought 2 PA8030P to upgrade the speed and stored the D-links.

 

If I only watch TV it works perfectly. If I turn on the computer or the raspberry, the TV starts hanging and dropping connectiion.

 

The computer and the raspberry always work fine, wether the TV box is on or not.

 

 

So, the problems only start when I connect something else to the same PA8030p (which has 3 ports, by the way). Also tried removing the tplink switch out of the equation with the same results.

 

 

My guess is the IGMP multicast starts confusing itself when I connect the computer or the raspberry py. The PA8030p doesn't support IGMP?

Hi, could you please help me confirm the following information:

1. If the only TV connected to the TL-PA8030P, there is no problem, right?

 

2. Could you please draw a simple map about how all the things are connected to each other, from the router to the TV, like a router—switch—TL-PA8030P~~~powerline~~TL-PA8030P—PC/TV/ raspberry?

As for the IGMP, since there isn't any information related to the user guide and please wait for a moment, let me double-check with the senior engineers and come back here.

That is correct.

 

2. simple map

 

internet router and powerlink on the left;

connected through eletricity cable to other powerlink on the right;

itself connected to a tv, pc and raspberry

@TP-Link any update on this? Or any other TP-Link device that would work with a tv box and a pc?

Hi, Sorry for the delay.

The powerline adapters supported IGMP v2.

As for the IGMP V3, it might have some problem.

So do you know which one did you use?

@TP-Link I don't know the version of the IGMP. But a old D-link powerline works fine, it has 7 years. Don't know if it helps.
