AV600 Powerline V4 makes constant noise
AV600 Powerline V4 makes constant noise
My TP-LINK AV600 Powerline, model TL-WPA4220 KIT V4.0, has stopped working a month ago. The extender (TL-WPA4220) now makes a high pitch constant noise, almost like the dial-up adsl of 20 years ago. My kit is almost 2 years old. Can anyone help?

Hi, Sorry for the delay.
Have you tried to reset the TL-WPA4220 to have a look?
Would changing to another power socket make any difference?
could you please download the Decibel Meter App to test the noise of the plug and provide up the screen-shot?
Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

Hi, I have tried to reset the extender, but nothing changed.
I have also changed power socket and no luck.
Digging in the forum, I have found another post which seems to match my issue. The post's title is "Wifi unit (AV600) started to make noise" made by user ErkanB earlier this year. In the post there is also a YouTube link to a video showing the extender making noise. The extender in the video is just like mine and makes the same noise.

Good day,
Thank you very much for your kind reply.
Sorry for the delay.
Have you tried to test the noise via the Decibel Meter App?
And if the noise is over 40dB, the adapters might be broken.
Please feel free to contact the shop retailer to get it replaced.
Really sorry for the inconvenience.
Wish you a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas.

Hi,
Today I went back to the retailer (MediaWorld, Milan, Italy) asking to replace my Powerline as it is still covered by the 3 Year warranty.
The retailer said that they are not willing to replace the product as it is not covered by the standard 2 year warranty period. As the 2 years have passed, the retailer said that it should be TP-Link to sort out the issue as the 3 Years Warranty period is provided by TP-Link. Can you please let me know how I can get my product replaced? Dealing with the retailer was a nightmare and I am not willing to go and speak with anyone else from the retailer's side.
Please find attached a number of pictures I have taken showing the product bought (covered by 3 Year warranty), model number, receipt of purchase (showing that the product was bought the 24 December 2018). Also, there is a photo with the screenshot showing that the noise that the extender is making is well above 40dB.
I look forward to your response,
David

Thanks for that, but I am in Italy, Europe. It seems the link you sent me is for Australia, which is not really local to me.
