Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

Hi to everyone,

I have a problem with trying to connect my TL-WR902AC to an USB 4G. The router does not recognize my Huawei E3372 LTE USB Stick, instead in Amazon web page appears like compatible. I have seen in other posts that you say this USB is not in the list of compatible devices, but in this list does not appear any USB. Do you know which 4G USB could I use for this router?

Thank you very much in advance for your help

Best regards.

Joaquin

Hello @MajkAdamko and anyone else who wants to set up the internet connection on the TL-WR902AC V3 with a HUAWEI E3372h-320 dongle, if the dongle is still displayed as "unplugged" after troubleshooting as per the suggestions here, please download and install the below beta firmware on the WR902AC, then plug the HUAWEI E3372h-320 into the router again to check if it can be identified successfully:

TL-WR902AC(EU)_V3_210316

Here is the guide to install the firmware manually via the router web interface:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1799/

Let the community know if the issue gets resolved, thank you.

@JoaquinSanz

Hello, thanks for asking.

If there is no modem listed on the compatibility list, that means we haven't done field test in your region, so compatibility is not guaranteed. You are suggested to refer to the troubleshooting guide to confirm the basic settings: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/400/

If none of the troubleshooting helps, I'm afraid the Huawei E3372 LTE modem is not compatible with the WR902AC.

@Kevin_Z

Hello, thanks for your reply.

I could not make it work with HUAWEI E3372 LTE USB Stick but with LTE 4G USB MODEM it works for let you know.

Do you know if it is possible to save the PIN of the SIM to do not have to put everytime when you disconnect the router?

Thank you very much for your support

@JoaquinSanz

I can't think of any cellular device that allows to "save" the PIN of the SIM card.

What usually can be done is to either activate or deactivate the use of a SIM PIN. In some rare cases the provider of the SIM card prohibits the deactivation of the SIM PIN, but mostly it can be done.

To deactivate the PIN function of the SIM card you either plug the HUAWEI LTE USB Stick into a PC, install the software that came with it and then deactivate the SIM PIN via that software or you put the SIM card into a phone and deactivate the SIM PIN via the phone.

@Kevin_Z Hey guys, why you are saying that Huwaei E3372h is not compatible with TL-WR902AC?

This seems it is not true, please see for instance following TP-link site:

https://www.tp-link.com/sa/support/3g-comp-list.html?model=TL-WR902AC&location=1154

There looks to be some issue with this modem now, please see the piece of my logfile:

@Kevin_Z: could you please submit the ticket for a dev team to investigate it? E3372h is a popular piece of device marked as a supported on TP-links site, would be good have it working with TL-WR902AC - which is in general very good travel router.

Thanks in advance for any comment and best regards!

@Myke

Thank you for posting on the TP-Link Community.

Generally, to verify if a 3G modem is compatible with the router, we need to ensure both the router model and the ISP are compatible, may I know who is your ISP please? We will then ask our dev team to check this for you.

Before that, please send us the whole system log on the WR902AC when you connect the modem to the WR902AC, they will check there is any clue in the log.

@JoaquinSanz

Just an update from Malaysia. I have the E3372h and it works flawlessly with the TL-WR902AC (H/W v3) from the get go.
