Model: Archer A6
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.7 Build 20201010 rel.49458(5553)

Hello, I just upgraded my router to the Archer A6 v2, and I have configured port forwarding using virtual servers under NAT, however in-game it says my NAT type is moderate. The only way I can get open NAT is if I set my PC to DMZ zone, can someone kindly help?

In the configuration webpage of your Archer A6 under the "Advanced" tab in the menu "NAT Forwarding" -> "UPnP" can you check if UPnP is activated?

Hello @woozle yes, upnp is enabled, as well as NAT and NAT acceleration.

Just to confirm, what is the WAN IP address on the A6? If it is a private address assigned by your ISP modem, you will need to open the corresponding port or ports on the modem for the A6.

If it already a public WAN address, you may try to enable the DMZ for that in-game host on the A6 webpage, you can go to NAT Forwarding>>DMZ, then input the IP address of the in-game device.

WAN IP is 49.206.xx.xx, it's most likely public, and if I enable DMZ, I get open NAT but isn't that not secure?

You could try what happens if you disable DMZ and instead (temporarily) forward all ports of all protocols to the game machine. Like in the screenshot below and with the proper Internal IP.

If that results in the NAT type still being moderate, then I've run out of ideas.

If you get an open NAT when all ports are forwarded and a moderate NAT when just some specific ports are forwarded, then that makes me think you may have missed one or more ports that your game needs to be forwarded to it.

Can you specify the name of the computer game you are having problems with?

@woozle I play GTA V and RDR 2, in my old router - Netgear R6220, NAT type was always open and there was even an option called "NAT filtering" which was set to open.

According to information on the internet GTA V needs UDP Ports 6672, 61455, 61456, 61457 and 61458 to be forwarded, with some places stating that TCP Ports 80 and 443 should be forwarded as well.
If that results in NAT type being reported as moderate, then I can't help you any further, because I don't have these games and hence can't test this for myself.
