Model: Archer TX50E
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I installed a new TX50E wifi 6 pci-e card in my desktop PC. Everything works fine with the wifi 6 driver from the TX50E support page :

I have DriverEasy installed which checks for latest drivers and it installed the latest wifi 6 driver from Intel :

and now 2.4G channel works but 5G channel doesn't.

Had to roll back the driver to fix the 5G. Anyone seen the same problem or have any suggestions?

Thanks.

@Solla-topee

Hi,

Thanks for that.

I updated to the latest driver from the Intel website : WiFi_22.30.0_Driver64_Win10.zip

2G works fine, 5G won't connect.

Have rolled back to and both 2G and 5G are working again.

Chris

Hi,

Sorry, I'm not really sure what you're asking me to do here?

On all other devices (Ipads, Iphones etc), I can 'forget the network' then reconnect with the wifi password without problems, 5G works every time.

At least I don't have the issue (horror story in another thread) of the card not being detected by the PC.

TLDR : Any wifi 6 driver (tried the new intel version several times) will cause the 5G channel to be undetected. For now I will stick with the

 'old' TP-Link driver Version 21.10.1.2 dated 24.04.2019 that is still the latest version for download on the TP-Link website.

I await an 'official' driver update version from TP-Link.

@Sandyman0_1  Hi,

Please change router's 5Ghz channel to Band1 channel like channel 36,40,44,48.

May I know what happened to the 5Ghz, can PC using this adapter or phone see the 5Ghz wifi from main router?

@Sandyman0_1  Hi,  thank you for your reply~

You could try a latest driver from Intel, download the driver on the left side according to your operating system:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30207/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-IT-Admins

If the above does not work, uninstall and it and install older driver : ArcherTX50E(UN)_V1_190823_win10_Wi-Fi

@Sandyman0_1  Hi ,

We really appreciated your latest update. Can you help check is there any other (build-in) Wireless adapter Enabled on computer except for tp-link ?

Sometimes the old or built-in adapter was enabled , if that is a single band Wi-Fi adapter computer could not see 5Ghz

You have tried Intel 22.30 latest driver, PC still can not see 5Ghz signal or it failed to connect to 5Ghz wifi?

Thank you and look forward for your reply ~wink

@Solla-topee

Hi,

to answer both your questions:

(1) There is another wifi 'card' in the PC, built into the motherboard ASUS

Prime X-299. This has been disabled in device manager

(2) With the latest Intel driver, the 5G signal appears in the list of available signals, but clicking on that just says 'can not connect to wifi'

Thanks

Chris

@Sandyman0_1

Thanks ! If you got some time to test that latest driver, please delete the Wi-Fi profile and try to reconnect by manually enter 5Ghz Wi-Fi password.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/918/

You could try to forget 5Ghz Wi-Fi on cell phone and reconnect to it, will phone accept your 5Ghz Wi-Fi password?

If 5Ghz password is good, we'd like to follow up your case via email, please check your box later, thank you!
