Hi there,

I completed a network in a lodge, to give wifi access to all the rooms, using 7 AV600 (v4, EU).

Each AV 600 is located between 2 rooms, to cover both of them.

Everything works fine, but the WiFi signal is weak, maybe because the adapters can't be very close to the user (due to the 2 rooms serving).

It seems, reading some informations online, that the EU versions are limited to 0,1 W, where the US versions has 1W of power on the WiFi.

(BTW, we are located in Africa, not in the EU).

I tried to update the firmware using a firmware for the US version, but it's not accepted.

Any idea about how to increase the wifi power?

Thanks

@Fab123

Hi,

Is your model number TL-WPA4220 KIT?

Could you please check the region code at the back of the 4220 to see whether It is EU or US version?

--may I know what is the current firmware version

Have you tried to change the wireless settings on the 4220, such as channel 11 and channel width 40mhz ?

Thank you very much.

@TP-Link

Hi,

the model is TL-WPA4220 v4.0, and the version is EU

I bought some in the kit, some alone, but at the moment I'm using only the TLWPA4220s, 9 of them, and not longer using a TL-PA4010 as a master, as the network seems more stable in this way.

Firmware 4.0.4 Build 20201023 Rel.31224

Channel width is Auto, and also channel number is Auto. I never tried specific channel setups different then Auto.

Thanks

Fab
