Model: RE505X
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.9 Build 20201013 Rel. 184524

I have an Archer AX90 Router and 2 x RE505X range extenders which for the past few weeks have been operating without issue in Onemesh mode (synced wifi name etc.).

Today, both RE505X units developed the same fault, the '2.4' LED turned off, indicating that they are only broadcasting on 5GHz, and this was confirmed by the disconnection of 2.4GHz devices attached to the repeater.

Despite rebooting the units, checking for firmware updates, and rebooting the router several times, the issue could not be resolved,

For now I have turned off one unit, the other I have been forced to put into standard wifi repeater mode with a different SSID for both wifi bands.

As both devices have this issue, has there been a firmware update to the router, or the RE505X that may be causing this?

@dazkgoodwin Hello,

It is recommended to fix the 2.4Ghz channel on main router (not Auto),  enable oneMesh on RE again and test performance.

If  2.4Ghz Led went OFF on Range extender, RE has disconnected from router's 2.4Ghz. So far I doubt that router's 2.4Ghz channel may be changed or interference on 2.4Ghz.

You could also disable smart Connect on AX90 and set up different SSIDs for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz for a test, and see if you have a stable 2.4Ghz connection on main router first.

Hi there; I have the same issue with the RE 505x extender on one mesh with a tp link vr400v3, the 2Ghz always slow down and dropout and it can’t be used, I had to disconnect it and use and olde extender for time B, but now I’m thinking to change the company as tp-link can’t provide a fix and no support plus there wasn’t a firmware update for so long.
