RE305 V.3 keeps disconnecting and rebooting
RE305 V.3 keeps disconnecting and rebooting
My RE305 keeps rebooting after about 30 min of using. Its connected to my Asus RT-AX3000 WIFI 6 router and i have set the
following fixed channels for 2.4 & 5ghz :
1) 2.4ghz - Channel 1 - Channel bandwidth 20/40
2) 5ghz - Channel 36 - Channel bandwidth 20/40/80/160
The RE305 is connected to my android box via ethernet and after about 30 mins of use it will suddenly
disconnect and reboot. It keeps doing this all the time so finally i have just stopped using it completely.
Kindly let me know what needs to be done as i have already did a factory restore twice and the firmware is up to date.
Thanks !

@Nomaxx25 Hello,
Thank you for your feedback.
It is recommended to factory reset RE305, and connect RE305 to a Hotspot Wi-Fi or a different Wi-Fi router, does RE305 reboot when connected to a different router?
We'd like to know if the issue is on RE305 itself, or issue only happens when it works with your current router.

@Solla-topee I have tried with another router, Asus RT-88U gaming router which is not wifi 6 enabled and still facing the same issues.
For your info i also have 2 set of RE650 and they both dont have this problem on my Wifi 6 router or the RT88U.
So far its only the Re305 having this drop in signal and rebooting.
Is there a newer firmware update available? or any issue how to solve it? Thanks

@Nomaxx25 Hi.
Thanks a lot for your update, can you please try a factory reset on RE and keep it in default state. If REdoes not connect to any WiFi router, will RE still reboot ?
(Reset : with RE powered on, use a pin to press the reset hole for 10 secs until most Leds flash once.)
If reboot stops in factory state, we'd like to follow up your case via email for further analysis, please check your inbox with subject 【Forum ID 258220】, thank you.

Thanks for that idea and let me try doing that and see if it also reboots in factory reset state. Thanks.

I tested the reset by inserting the pin into the reset button and so far i don't see the RE305 rebooting in reset mode.

Hey. Try downloading and installing an older version of the firmware. I downloaded the v3 200715 version and it doesn't reboot as frequent I'd say about once every couple hours?
I know it's not much of a fix but it still beats having it reboot every 10-15minutes or so.

thanks for the tip and let me try downgrading the firmware. Yes if it reboots only a few times every couple of hours is so much more better. I got tired of it rebooting every 15 to 30 minutes and just stopped using it.
I have also the RE650 and no issues from that model. Great strong signal and boost the WiFi with its 4 antennas.
the RE305 was a total letdown from TP-Link. Pity and hope they are reading the forums and fix this issue fast.
thanks again and let me try and let you know if the older firmware update helps. Cheers !
