RE605X + AX73/AX90 Mesh
Hi
i understand RE605X supports Mesh Wifi just wondering if it supports ethernet backhaul working as AP to extend the Wifi Mesh coverage using either AX73 or AX90 router. Connection between one/multiple RE605X to AX73/AX90 is via ethernet, would the Mesh Wifi work this way.
thks

@Solla-topee it would be great if it could work that way. How about ax73 working with deco x60 as AP via ethernet backhaul. Would it extend the wifi using onemesh?

@Jasz74 Hello,
Deco Mesh is different from tplink oneMesh, and they could not build a Mesh between each other, please check Q1 in this FAQ :
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2690/
Deco itself could work as a Router/ AP and Deco system will work for you.Deco units could build mesh by wireless or Ethernet connection.

@Solla-topee i see ok hopefully the re605x could get a fw update for onemesh to work as an AP.

Did anything change in this manner, or maybe there is at least a plan to update the firmware or provide a new extender that would work with AX90 and ethernet backhaul with one mesh???
Just bought ax90 which was kinda pricey, so its really a shame that it doesn't support ethernet backhaul...
I guess my bad for not doing enough research.
Deco series looks great, but its too gimmicky for me.
Nevertheless due to how my house is built, the router is on the attic and sends wifi and cable connection to first and bottom floor.
Unfortunately the 5ghz signal ends on the staircase and the 2.4ghz is far from perfect on the bottom floor.
A repeater solves this problem, but the AX90 was bought mostly because of the onemesh.
I have simply got tired with switching between multiple wifi names/points when using for example a smartphone.
You could place an re550 or re650 near the staircase, but even then the 5ghz on the bottom floor wouldnt be close to 100 of its capability.
On the other hand I don't need best wifi on the staircase, so it would be even better to instal a cable fed repeater in the middle of the bottom floor.
I will probably have to send the AX90 unit back to the store and go with other manufacturer.
For me this is veeeery disappointing, since I have been using only tp-link products since TL-WR1043N,using them also in my parents home and my job and I always have been happy with what I chose.
Please let me know if I should wait few months for a proper repeater (this is how I like TP LINK).

Dear TP Link,
I have an Archer AX90 as well and is hoping that i could connect an RE605X to it via ethernet cable, and utilise the capabilities of OneMesh.
Is there a new wifi extender / firmware update in the pipeline to enable me to do the above?
Thanks!!
