tpPLC_Utility_Windows
The utility does not recognise this device for what it is but lists it as a plc, and I have to use a browser to edit the settings instead of the utility. It initially did recognise the device
but I reset the device and now it is not recognised by the utility software.
Secondly I upgraded the firmware for the TL-PA4010_V3(EU) to the TL-PA4010(EU)V3_180914 firmware listed as First firmware released, however this device which used achieve speeds of 300 to 320Mbps, now only achieves 195Mbps. I would like to go back to the original firmware but cannot find which firmware it was.
I have been advised to try the local office but their website is outdated and therefore I have to look for the firmware.
Regards
Neil Lee

@Neil_zx Hello,
Thank you for your clear post, unfortunately we did not find another firmware for PA4010 (EU) V3 except for TL-PA4010(EU)V3_180914, this is the latest firmware for now.
If there is any, that should be a very outdated one.
Powerline rate on the tpPLC Utlity is an indicator for the powerline environment, this should not be effectd by the firmware of powerline units (of the same model & same hardware)
Make sure powerline units are plugged into the wall sockets, and you could change a different wall socket for the powerline extender.
The performance of the Powerline device may be affected by various factors, you could follow this instruction and see if that helps with the powerline rate:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/409/
If you have checked the above factors mentioned in the FAQ, 195Mbps is not bad nor very good, I'm afraid that the best powerline rate the kit could get.

Hi, Can I have a picture of that 'The utility does not recognize this device for what it is but lists it as a plc'?
--or After reset, TL-WPA4220 was no longer on the utility at this moment?
May I know what is the current firmware version of TL-WPA4220_V4(EU) as well?
And did the 2nd powerline light still lit up on both of them?
Thank you very much.

Well that did not work, I guess I will just have to live with this garbage ort switch to another brand.
TP-Link has been churning up rubbish firmware for the vr600 as well as the powerline adapters

@Neil_zx Hello,
May I know model of your Windows computer and its Windows OS? This is the first time we get similar feedback on 4220 V4.
Here is beta tpPLC Utility for Windows, please let us know if this Beta works for you:

Good Day
I have managed to get my vr600 back to Archer VR600(EU)_V2_200226 and the TL-WPA4220 V4 to TL-WPA4220(EU)_V4_190326 as this was the firmware that it came with.
Please let me have the original firmware for the TL-PA4010 V3 as when I installed the latest firmware TL-PA4010(EU)V3_180914 it slowed the system down.
Note that this used to work but then I rest the TL-WPA4220 V4 and then it stopped working.
