Model: Archer MR400
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: V3_190226

Is the Archer MR400 compatible with the Telstra network?

When insert the SIM I get the message

"Internet not connected. Internet unavailable due to no 3G or 4G signal. Please position the antennas upward and place the router in a location where it can get a good 3G or 4G signal reception."

It is not a signal issue as my mobile and a Nighthawk M2 have good signal strength. There is a fair amount of conflicting information on web regarding this.

@MJD58

Can we confirm what are the bands that the 4G base station provided by Telstra? MR400 supports the below:

4G: FDD-LTE B1/B3/B7/B8/B20 (2100/1800/2600/900/800 MHz)
TDD-LTE B38/B40/B41 (2600/2300/2500 MHz)
3G: DC-HSPA+/HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS B1/B8 (2100/900 MHz)

You can try to reset the MR400 by pressing and holding the RESET button until the LEDs flash off then on, check again if it can connect to the network when the Network Type is 4G preferred.

@MJD58  I have discovered that 850MHz is the only 3G band that Telstra uses. Whilst the MR400 supports a number of 4G bands that Telstra uses, the 700MHz band is the one that has the longest range and best building penetration and is the primary band used outside of heavily built up areas. Neither of these bands is supported by the MR400. This means the MR400 really cannot be used by Telstra customers.
