  @Kevin_Z

thanks for your response, I guess TP Link lied to its customers by advertising speeds 5 GHz: 1300 Mbps (802.11ac)
2.4 GHz: 450 Mbps (802.11n) for the Archer C59 V1.

Re:What can I do if my Router Speed limits to 100 Mbps?

  @Kevin_Z it is clear that there is a BIG problem with this router. It is not a matter to update, change cables.... it is a BUG in the system. Unfortunately looks TPlink doesn't know how to solve it. In my case, every time that I turn on my router, I check the speed, if it is 100mb, I reboot the router and then it adjusts to 1gb automatically. Sometimes the reboot is not necessary sometimes it is.

So, please go deeper in the trouble shooting with the tech team and fix it. It is not a customer configuration or installation problem, it is a TPLINK problem.

  @Kevin_Z Could you help me with 100 mbps speed cap issue. Thank you.

1. What is the model of the TP-Link router?:

Archer C60 (US) AC1350 wireless dual band router

2. What troubleshooting have you done, and what are the results? Send us the screenshots about the Negotiation speed.

There is no 1000mpbs negotion speed listed

I also connected my laptop to the cat 5E cable that was connected from modem to TP link router and I was getting 250mbps speed, so there is not LAN cable issue between Modem and TPLink router

3. What are the devices that you are testing the LAN speed, and what are the models of the adapters?

Windows HP Laptop

IOS iPhone

4. When did you purchase the TP-Link router, and when did the issue begin to happen?

Purchase date: 04-Oct-2020

Issue begin date: Don’t know, I tried to use it from Sept 26th 2022 for 200 mbps, earlier to that I was using only 100 mbps so I didn’t encounter this issue.

5. What is the model of the ISP modem that this TP-Link router connects to?

Router details: Nokia

Model: G-2425G-A

              ISP: Airtel

  @Kevin_Z

I'm having an odd situation where I'm trying to replace an old tp-link N600 with a tp-link Archer AX-20. Using the N600, I'm getting a 100Mbps connection. With the N600 - I'm getting a 1000Mbps connection - all with the same cabling. When I tried to change the negotiation speed from 'auto' to 1000Mbps duplex - I get an error connecting.

I've described the issue (with screenshots) in this post: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/594738?page=1

What I can't make sense of is why an older router makes it work - and a newer one doesn't - with the exact same setup...

Any tips?

Thanks.

Hello @Males

If it is the LAN negotiation speed is capped at 100Mbps, please try referring to this thread for some basic suggestions instead.

BTW, what is the model number of the TP-Link device?

If the Internet negotiation speed still shows as 100Mbps after changing the duplex to 1000Mbps, make sure to 'reboot' the router by clicking the 'Reboot' button at the top-right of

the UI
