Troubleshooting What if my Router Speed is capped at 100 Mbps?

Issue Description/Phenomenon:
Some customers may report the speed is limited to 100 Mbps when connected to the TP-Link router, while the speed is much faster and can reach up to 500+ or 900+ Mbps when connecting to the ISP modem directly. If this is what you are experiencing, follow this article to get it resolved.
Troubleshooting Suggestions:
1. Mark certain you are getting a gigabit router, which has gigabit WAN/LAN ports. Some models like Archer C20 and Archer C50 only support 10/100 Mbps WAN/LAN ports, you can find that in the product specifications here and here. If your router only has 10/100 Mbps WAN/LAN ports, you cannot get a higher speed than 100 Mbps, and you need to get a gigabit router.
2. Login to the web GUI of the router, go to Basic > Network Map > click on the Icon for TP-Link router, slide down to the bottom of the page, and you will see the Negotiation Speed of the Ethernet ports in the Ethernet part. You can refer to this article to find more detailed instructions.
3. If the Internet Port Negotiation Speed is not 1000Mbps, go to Advanced > Network > Internet page, choose 1000Mbps Full Duplex, save and reboot the router:
4. If it's still connected at 100 Mbps, try with another Cat5e/6 cable or change the port of your ISP device, where you're connecting the TP-Link router (if possible).
5. If the Internet speed is negotiated correctly at 1000 Mbps, but the LAN gets stuck at 100 Mbps, it is also suggested to try with another Cat5e/6 cable between the router LAN and the client device, try with another client device if that is possible. Follow this thread to troubleshoot further.
6. Try to reset the router to the default factory following the FAQ.
7. Upgrade the router firmware to the latest. You can follow this guide.
If the speed still gets stuck at 100 Mbps after checking all the above, it is suggested to comment below and be sure to provide the following information:
1. Model number, hardware, and firmware version of your TP-Link Router.
2. What troubleshooting have you done, and what are the results? Send us the screenshots about the Negotiation speed.
3. What are the devices that you are testing the LAN speed, and what are the models of the adapters?
4. When did you purchase the TP-Link router, and when did the issue begin to happen?
5. What is the model of the ISP modem that this TP-Link router connects to?

Similar escenario here.
My configuration:
- 2 ISPs 500/300
- Cat 7 cable from both ISP modems to an ER7206 (Hardware ver v1.0, Firm. 1.4.1 Build 20240117 Rel.57421)
- Cat 6 cable (5 mts) from ER7206 (port 5) to main Deco 5 (router mode)
Tried everything (even factory-resseting all dispositives), nothing worked at all, just fake temporal 1000mbs that suddenly drops and caps to 100mbs ad hoc.
Reset all one more time, set the Deco to AP, estable at 1000mps so far, let's see how it goes.
Side note, what a waste of money if I cannot give the actual use to the Deco, several other options for way better speeds on the AP side.

@Henalbrod I feel you. That's what I'm experiencing with the Deco as the main router. Under Access Point, I haven't experienced a wired ethernet slowdown that's connected to the same switches.
It's definitely a TP-Link bug that needs to be addressed.

Hi, what is the negotiation speed and also actual internet speed when connecting a computer to the internet cable directly?
Besides, the internet cable comes from your ISP directly or there is a wall port? If there is a wall port, you may try different Cat6 or higher Ethernet cables as well.

@Kevin_Z I have an AX50 router, bought about two months ago. In the beginning, the problem was intermittent, but now it is permanent.
I checked the firmware, it is up to date (1.0.14 Build 20240108 rel.42655).
My router does not have the internet negotiation speed setting available?!
I have also been using the exact same cable for many different applications, and they all have been able to sustain 1000Mbps without any issues. The WiFi 5G network has full internet speed connectivity, it is JUST the one port that keeps defaulting to 100Mbps!
I'm out of options and getting pretty frustrated, since I initially bought the new router not because the old one stopped working, but because I decided it's time to upgrade my WiFi capabilities. Now I'm regretting my choice!

Firstly, thank you for all of the advice on these threads, it has helped me solve the problem (temporarily) and get back to my actual 1Gbps limit as below.
I have Archer AX50 but the problem is I run a Ethernet cable from the AX50 to another room where it goes into a NETGEAR 8 Port Gigabit Network Switch. Connected to the switch I have 8 devices some of which run at 1Gbps and some at 100Mbps. The problem seems to be that when all of the 1Gbps devices are switched off leaving just 100Mbps devices connected the AX50 decides that the port should step down to 100Mbps.... and when a 1Gbps device is switched on it is limited to 100Mbps.
It seems the AX50 does not work correctly with switches in terms of port speed negotiation. It can only cope with a single device plugged in to a single port.
Is there any way to force the AX50 to always use the 1Gbps option and not step down to 100Mbps? I have turned off the auto negotiation and set it to 1000Mbps which I thought might help.
