TP-Link AC1300 Archer T3U Plus EU does not see android phone hotspot.
Hi
I have a new TP-Link AC1300 Archer T3U Plus EU and it connects like a dream to my ISP box.
I am trying to connect to my Android phone hotspot, which my portable does no problem, but with this adapter on my PC it does not see the hotspot at all.
I have tried every change I can find, every idea on the internet. .4Gh, 5.0Gh, nothing works.
Running Windows 10 x64
Driver dtd 21/08/2020 1030.41.514.2020
This driver is newer then the driver I find on TP-LInk's site for download.
Do I have a dud adapter?
Help please before I go mad.

@Squeezy Hello,
Please confirm T3U plus EU V1 see other Wi-Fi signals and also your Hotspot WiFi could be detected by other devices.
May I know the model and OS of your Android phone, did you try both 2.4/ 5Ghz Hotspot?
If your hotspot allows changing Wi-Fi channels: 2.4Ghz Band Hotspot: Channel 1-11 ; 5Ghz Band Hotspot: Channel 36/40/44/48 are recommended
Try to scan the Wi-Fi channel using Wi-Fi analyzer APP or software, and check which channel does the hotspot use?

Hi,
AC1300 Mbps Archer T3U Plus V1
Hotspot works with my portable PC
Have trie2.4 and 5ghz
My phone is a Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro european version. Android 11
It is not documented what channel it uses for the hotspot.
I have written to Xiaomi and today they replied that a hotspot will not work with an adapter, the Wifi needs to be built in to the PC - strange.
T-Link gave me the channels it works with, which is a limited set of channels.
Cheers
David

Thank you for your fast reply, if you have a laptop or another Android phone, you could download Wi-Fi analyzer app and see which channel the Hotspot is ON, that may help figure out the issue. Different tp-link adapters could support different channel ranges, but lower channels for 5Ghz and 1-11 channels for 2.4Ghz are supported for most tp-link Wi-Fi adapters.

@Squeezy Hello,
Channel 149-165 are band 4 channels, unfortunately tp-link adapters of (EU) version does not Band4 which is accord with CE certification, if your live in European countries you may need to consider adapter of another made.
Or you could consider connect to different Hotspot Wi-Fi which use lower 5Ghz channels or 2.4Ghz channels.
Here is a related FAQ of 5Ghz channels : https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/763/
