Model: Archer C80
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.7 Build 210308 Rel.60033n(5553)
Hello all!

I'm having trouble updating to the latest version available for "ARCHER C8 1.0" 1.5.7 Build 210308 Rel.60033n (5553). I experience small lapses of time where I lose connection to the internet throughout the day (
The WAN indicator light turns orange for 5-10 seconds
). This didn't happen to me before and I don't know how to downgrade. Any ideas?

Try using another router and this does not happen.

i think the problem is here,

161 ERROR 0days, 04:03:50, [dnsproxy]register dns server detect error

162 INFO 0days, 04:03:50, [wan]advanced ddns -wanChanged

163 INFO 0days, 04:03:50, [dhcpc]Lease lost, entering init state

164 INFO 0days, 04:03:50, [dnsproxy]Register primary = 0x0, secondary = 0x0

161 ERROR 0days, 04:03:50, [dnsproxy]register dns server detect error

in my DNS settings I get the DNS from my ISP and there should be no problem as it was always like this before I updated the firmware, and other routers are working fine

I did the factory reset and the problem continues

Hello @Jarax, we are happy to tell you that there is a new firmware for the Archer C80(US) V1, you can try to install it on your C80, then check the connectivity.

You can refer to this thread for more details:

[New Firmware] Archer C80(US)_V1_210716

@Jarax

Please confirm the below information:
1. Who is your ISP? What's the model of the modem?
2. What is the WAN connection type on the TP-Link router? Try to enable Get IP Unicast DHCP on the router. Under the Advanced tab, choose Network > Internet > Get IP Unicast DHCP, then save and reboot the router:

If the above doesn't help, try to Clone the MAC address of the PC as follows, which has a stable connection when connecting to the modem directly:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2264/

3. Save and email the System Log on the router (System Tools > System Log). Don't reboot the router, wait for the internet coming back automatically after the disconnect.

@Kevin_Z

Thank for your answer

1. Gtd Internet S.A. (Chile). Modem/ONT: Zhone Z2424A

2. My internet connection type is: Dynamic IP

I have just made the adjustments you indicated in step 2 activating the "Get ip unicast dhcp" and I will see if the problem persists, if it does, I will clone the Mac from the pc

UPDATE 1: I tried to use the "Get ip unicast DHCP" and the problem continues, so now I will clone the MAC of my Laptop, although I doubt that will work. I'm sure it's firmware problem.

UPDATE 2: I cloned the MAC of my laptop and the problem persists. attached syslogs. Please help!

@Jarax Help 🥲

Is there a manual that tells how to downgrade? I have installed with previous versions but it says that the file is invalid. It does not allow it

@Jarax

Can we confirm which firmware are you running on the C80, do you remember that? You can downgrade to the Archer C80(EU)_V1_210128, but you cannot downgrade to the previous Archer C80(EU)_V1_201003.

Don't worry, we can try to work it out and try to fix it on the latest firmware. Please check your email and follow up.

@Jarax

Sorry, I mean, do you remember the previous firmware version on the C80 when there is no disconnect issue?

@Jarax

I think you should be able to downgrade to the previous Archer C80(EU)_V1_210128, you can give it a go. Download and unzip the zip file, then upload it into the router as follows:
