Solution Printer Server function for Archer A7
Solution Printer Server function for Archer A7
This Article Applies to:
Archer A7_V5_20190810 and newer versions
Problem Description/Phenomenon:
Archer A7_V5 and the newly developed and released Wi-Fi routers no longer support the Printer Server function. If anyone requires the Printer Server function, checking the open online User Manual or Specifications before buying.
For those who purchased the Archer A7_V5 already and the Printer Server feature was available with the older versions, we here provide a possible solution and a workaround if the latter doesn’t work.
Available Solutions:
If your printer supports a wired or wireless connection, we recommend connecting it to the router with an Ethernet cable or via Wi-Fi.
While if you still require to use the Printer Server function on the router, we will provide an older version for you to downgrade to, then you can use the Printer Server. Please be aware that the newer versions other than 190403 DON'T support the Printer Server any longer, so you need to keep with that if you need that feature.
Procedures to downgrade the firmware of Archer A7_V5 (Updated on Nov 21, 2025):
1. Download and install the following firmware on the router first:
Archer A7_V5_20220410 (for US & EU versions)
2. Then install and downgrade to the previous 190403:
Note:
1. Please check the device label to verify the and hardware version of your device first, the firmware we provide above is ONLY used for Archer A7_V5;
2. The firmware can be installed on both Archer A7(EN)_V5 and Archer A7(US)_V5.

@Kevin_Z I know this is a old post but I having issues getting these bin files to accept by the router. I have tried doing the upgrade through TP website and also through tftp server but seem like the router is not accepting files and I renamed the file ArcherC7v5_tp_recovery.bin. I need some help to downgrade the firmware back to Archer A7(US)_V5_190403 so that I can get the printer server function back.
