Accepted WAN/LAN auto-sensing

Background:
There is a typical network topology:

Some users might notice that, once the internet service fails, they are no longer able to access the NAS server from the local network.
The cause of this Phenomenon:
When internet service went down and the cable modem failed to provide an IP address for Main Deco, both Ethernet ports on the main Deco would work as WAN ports to detect internet connection. NAS would no longer obtain an IP address from Deco.
Why do we use WAN/LAN auto-sensing on Deco?
For the Deco Mesh system, normally, it would have more than 2 units, and each unit has at least 2 Ethernet ports; It would be time-consuming and confusing to find out which port should be connected to the ISP modem. And supposing that the WAN port is fixed, once this port is broken, the whole Mesh kit would be useless.
Recommended Solutions:
- Given that the issue arises only when the ISP modem fails to assign an IP address for the main Deco, once the cable modem recovers, the problem should be resolved. It is suggested to contact the ISP to restore the modem connection as a priority.
- The current workaround would be connecting the wired servers to the satellite Deco units instead of the main one.
- And we have also implemented enhancements on certain models, ensuring that the WAN port remains constant as long as the physical Ethernet connection between the modem and main Deco is unchanged, even when there is no internet service from the modem. Moreover, it is also planned to support manually fixing a specific Ethernet port as the WAN post on the Deco APP later.
The following models already support fixing the WAN port:
| Deco X80-5G Deco X50-5G Deco X20-4G Deco X50/X55_V1/V1.2 Deco X20/X60_V4 Deco X60_V3/3.2/V4.2 | 1.11.0 Firmware Platform Understand the Differences Among Deco Firmware Platforms

@TP-Link Will you please give us an eta on when WAN port assignment will be added to each deco model?

" It is also planned to support manually fixing a specific Ethernet port as WAN post on the Deco APP later" Later is totally unacceptable for a bug like this. Give us a timeline. It has been three years since this bug was reported to you.

Absolutely horrible design and customer support on this front. All this time and still no solution to dedicate a port for WAN? I have recommended the deco devices to several people but never again. This is unacceptable as I have to have my LAN working when there is no internet. NAS, Server, Printer, etc. for business purposes. Please release a firmware update for the x55 deco to address this issue.

also, why are only WiFi 6, the cheapest yall have able to have this option, but if u have a 6E or 7 router, we are overlooked, although we spent way way more money! Yall have failed y'all's customers, I would advise anyone looking into a deco unit to steer clear! They will tell you they will fix it with a upgraded firmware, but only release it to the lower end models is a slap to the face to the ones that spent thousands on this garbage! I was told the BE85 would have the upgrade by June this year, it's now November and nothing, yall are absolutely horrible, I want a refund point blank!

why do yall release updates for very old deco equipment, but when I reach out to have this done on the top of the line routers, like the WiFi 7 decos, the fact that yall would support old devices but not give us ppl who spent thousands that same option, its time for me to return yalls equpand go to netgear, because it's obvious yall don't care about us customers who spent over $1200 for a mesh system, netgear don't have this issue, this is a yall issue and since yall told me yall would update this in June of this year and still nothing is proof yall don't care about the customers who really spend money, this fixed wan port should of been rolled out to the high end devices first! Not old equipment like the W6000! Yall are horrible

@TP-Link Please add the Deco BE63 to this list of supported devices for More > Advanced > WAN Port settings shown in the "How to set a fixed WAN Port on your Deco" article (https://www.tp-link.com/ca/support/faq/4252/).
