Hi all. Just bought TP-Link TL-PA717 kit. I've used bold text because I cannot actually find this item in the models dropdown above...neither can I find it on the TP link product pages but it does look identical to the PA7017 kit.

 

But that's not my question. I actually bought two kits but now I want to go wireless in certain locations. Is there a wireless unit I can get without having to buy a kit with another injector. Hope I'm making sense here. I just want an add-on unit that will work with the AV1000s in the kit I have and result in wireless coverage. If I have to buy two units that would be fine but trying to avoid buying the likes of another AV1000.

If you already have some tp-link powerline units in the house, it is recommended to choose powerline devices with the same powerline speed for the best performance.

Please check 2.There are TP-Link powerline devices in the house already in the introduction below:

For the Wi-Fi feature, you could consider AV1000 wireless power line unit, model TL-WPA7510. You could check the local store or retailer for this model, 

But as far as I know most powerline adapters are sold by KIT, you may need to consider a TL-WPA7510KIT, which contains a TL-WPA7510 (wireless unit) + PA7010 (wired unit) .Both units could pair with your current AV1000 and work as extender, but PA7010 has no wifi.

I think the TL-WPA7510KIT is what I'll settle for. Yes, would be good to be able to purchase add-on units as the need arises...can't understand why a full kit must be purchased almost always TBH. I was able to add an old router to one of the TL-PA717 units so have wireless from that. Could do the same with the spare TL-PA717 KIT I have and it would probably be cheaper than buying the TL-WPA7510KIT but it is more clutter.
