Model: Archer T4U Plus
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

I've been having this problem with these adapters for the past week since I bought them. Originally, I bought the Archer T3U Plus. I installed the drivers from online, everything works fine for a few minutes. It then starts disconnecting randomly, sometimes while I'm in the middle of browsing the internet, sometimes in the middle of a game. It play the windows disconnect sound, and I often have to use the windows troubleshooter to reset the WiFi adapter or unplug it and plug it back in. Every time I do this though, the problem comes back, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after an hour. I ended up returning the T3U Plus because of this problem, and getting the T4U Plus instead, but now I'm having the exact same problem with this adapter as well. I've looked at other forum posts about this, and apparently it's something with the drivers. However, I've tried reinstalling the proper drivers, using the windows default ones, using the one suggested by TP Link staff, none of them fix the problem. Any ideas?

Good day@basketcase_111

Thank you for your detailed post.

May I know did you try this chipset driver for T4U(Plus)/ T3U (Plus) before, please try this latest chipset driver for and see if help with the issue:
https://static.tp-link.com/beta/2021/202101/20210108/RTLWlanU_WindowsDriver_1030.41.0514.2020_Drv_3.00.0036(26078).zip

Below is the instruction to manually install driver:  https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/920/

If still the same issue, can you help share  photos of  the driver version and computer system information as FAQ:          https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2722/

When Windows disconnection sound appears, can you check if TP-Link disappear from Device Manager ? Or double check on TP-link adapter and see what is the status of adapter?  ( Please go to This PC/ Computer--> Computer Management--> Device manager/ Other Devices and see if tp-link adapter or 802.11ac XX is still available under Device manager or Other Devices )
