Having frequent disconnection. After checking with service provider, the line is now ok. Telephone line no problem and also the ADSL indicator is light up. Wireless indicator also light up. The only indicator that does not light up is the internet indicator. I can't access internet at all. I have checked many forums and have tried everything but still same problem. I bought this modem in Feb 2013 and prior to few weeks ago, everything is ok. It's very frustrated that unable to access the internet all the time. Is this the hardware problem? Please help.

You need to contact with your ISP to double check your username, password, connection type, encapsulation mode, VPI and VIC.
Then login 192.168.1.1 with default username and password admin/admin and do Quick Start settings to set up Internet connection.

Check your VPI setting.

I had the same problem when configuring the W8970 and W8980.

Run 'Quick Setup'. For Streamyx users, when it asks you for the VPI/VCI setting, set your VPI to 0 and your VCI to 35. In some cases the VPI was incorrectly set to 8. Then continue with the rest of the configuration.

For Malaysia TM Streamyx users, configure your ISP setting under "PVC2" will do.
