Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.14

I have an Archer C6 v3.2 (3 months old) connected to my ISP's Nokia ONT/wifi router through bridge mode on the Nokia ONT. The Archer C6 connects through PPPoE. I have been using this config for the past 3 months and it was working fine. 3 days back the Archer C6 will disconnect from the internet (PPPoE connection) every 10-15 seconds and will reconnect. Light gos orange and green multiple times.

The connection on the Nokia ONT/ Wifi router is stable and I am now having to use that as backup.

I have tried doing a factory reset, upgradng the firmware to the latest on the TP link site, changing the LAN cable (Lan 4 to WAN port on the TP Link). However the issue persists. I would be happy to attach a syslog as I am unable to make much sense of it. There have been no other changes to the ISP setttings on the Nokia ONT modem.

PLease assist.

PS: I also notice that devices connected to the Wifi on the Archer C6 (2.4GHz or 5GHz) will use up more battery compared to when I was using the WR841N. I had 3 android devices connected to the router and am facing this issue on all 3 (approx 4-5% used through the day).

Hello @Kevin_Z ,

Thank you for the solution. I kinda managed to realise what went wrong. I had enabled IPv6 on the router and my ISP it seems has not yet started providing IPv6 IPs in my area. When I disabled that option the disconnections stopped.

ON a separate note, would it be possible to change the Wifi Channel on my Archer C6 v3.20 2.4GHz to beyond 11? There are a lot of users in my condo unit with WIfi Routers and the channel 11 is sometimes heavily overlapped. I was hoping to change it to 12-14.

That's great to know the internet issue gets resolved by disabling IPv6 on the router, great finding. If your ISP doesn't provide an IPv6 connection, leave it disabled on the router.

Regarding the 2.4G channel issue, you can check if there is an option to choose channels beyond 11 on the router settings page, if that is not an option, then you cannot choose those channels. You can install a Wi-Fi analyzer on your laptop or phone to review all the channels around you, then choose one that is less crowded with others.
