VPN connection between two TP-LINK routers MR200 and Archer C7
Hi,
In home I have fiber internet access with static IP address and TP-LINK Archer C7 router.
At summer house I have only 3G/4G network so I buy TP-Link MR200 and add inside SIM card.
So that location I don't have static IP address so I configure NOIP DDNS service which works correctly.
At both location internet works normally but now I would want to establish some kind VPN connection between those two routers/sites.
As I check in TP-LINK Archer C7 router have options to establish OpenVPN or PPTP VPN connection and
TP-LINK MR200 have options to establish OpenVPN, PPTP VPN or IPSec VPN connection.
So what kind of VPN connection you suggest me to create and where to get detailed information with steps how to configure such VPN connection?

Hello @Clownfish1122, thank you for reaching out to us and welcome to the TP-Link community.
Just to be sure, what is the hardware version of the MR200? Please check if it supports IPSec VPN or not. You can refer to the user manual for the specific hardware, or you may check on the router web GUI if it is at hand.
If the hardware you owned supports IPSec VPN, you can build up the IPSec VPN on both routers, then you will be able to link the two networks together. Below is the guide you can refer to:

Hi @Kevin_Z
Thank you for answer but I wrote already:

So yes my TP-LINK MR200 have options to establish IPSec VPN connection
but newer TP-LINK Archer C7 router don't have that option for IPSec VPN connection therefore I can't use that MR200 feature in connection to Archer C7
And I update Archer C7 to latest firmware recently and also that don't have this option.
Do you have any other hint for me?
I am really fan of TP-Link products but this issue really upset me and I am thinking to change firmware to OpenWRT which have this feature

A little note from my side.
Before you are going to spend a lot of effort into this I recommend you verify the IP address that is assigned to the MR200 by your cellular provider is indeed a public IPv4 address.
For example, in the picture below the Internet IPv4 address (red border) is a private IP address, which is not directly reachable by another device on the Internet.
This has caught out many users recently, as very few cellular providers still assign public IPv4 addresses.
private IP address ranges are:
10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255
100.64.0.0 - 100.127.255.255

woozle really points out the right direction. If you want to use IPSec VPN between the two routers, please be sure you can get a public WAN IP address from your 3G/4G provider first.
BTW, is the hardware of your Archer C7 V3? Can you please verify and confirm? What is the firmware version?

Hi, @woozle
Yes I check on my MR200 and it seems as my provider assign me this IP: 10.41.107.222
So that means private IP which is not reachable from some outer IP and can't be used for VPN purposes :(
What about NOIP service? Can't that be used for VPN connection? Router have this feature and I successfully got xxxx.ddns.net connection ?

As I check now on my Archer C7 it is written as:
Firmware Version: 1.1.4 Build 20211022 rel.59103(4555) Hardware version: Archer C7 v5.0
