Hi,
I bought the above router a few days ago and it drops connection a few times per day. A quick restart via a browser tends to bring it back online and the router seems to always be available via the browser (so I know it's not that my computer can't find the network).
I work with two laptops and they both go down simultaneously.
Tried to upgrade the firmware today but the latest version on the site says 120524 and when I looked on the router admin it's current version said 120808 so I didn't want to upgrade.

maybe the wireless channel is too crowded, you can try to change a channel manually.

Have had same issues myself. Only bought a couple of weeks ago from Tesco. Took first one back as lost internet access and reset made no difference. Tried with a spare router and all ok. SReplacement router has lost connection both to internet and wireless today. Is this a firmware issue. I have not updated for the same reason as yourself.

When Internet connection drops, can you ping 192.168.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 on the computer via wireless and cable connection?

Can you login 192.168.1.1? If can, please post the screenshot about the Status page of TD-W8961ND.
How often does Internet connection drop?

I have the same issue, the router worked really well for about 2 months hardly ever dropping the connection, but now it can stay up for 24 hours, or repeatedly drop it 5 - 10 times an hour - same symptom everytime
Looking at the staus screen shows VPC 0 as down , restart the box, its picked up again then after a period time (even with clients pushing data through) it reverts to down requiring another restart - is this unit faulty or is the firmware bad? latest firmware it came with 080812

Firmware 080812 is quite old. Is your modem TD-W8961ND? Is it V3?
Sometimes Internet dropping down problem is due to the ADSL line, have you contacted with your ISP to check the ADSL line? If you replace the modem with another modem, how about the Internett connection?

Hi, I'm from Chile. It happens exactly the same the "modem router" works well for a few hours, but then collapses; or my connection is limited or sometimes siemplmente devices do not find my wireless network, I have to restart the router and the problem is solved. It has many configuration options and is not if it will, I tried everything and I am planning to return back a version of fimware.
If anyone has a solution please.
