For two months, I have been using Band 1 + Band 3 on Airtel (India).

This combination was excellent and 45mb download around 10mb upload was consistently being achieved. 

Since the past week or so, Band 1 is not being received and I am unable to select it. 

Unfortunately, Band 3, 8 and 40 simply do not give me the same speed or reliability as Band 1.

I have currently switched to Band 40 and sometimes Band 3 only, but the speeds are much lower than Band 1.

Why has Band 1 simply disappeared? Is this a router issue?

Please advise.

Hi, have you tried to put the SIM card into the smartphone and check whether B1 is able to be detected?

--if yes, what is the exact bandwidth of B1 on the smartphone?

Have you tried to reboot and reset the router once to see whether it made any difference?

I have rebooted the router a few times but that has not made a difference.

I'll try the sim in a phone and report back if B1 is available. Need to figure out how to select a particular band on an iPhone.

  @David-TP Apologies for the time it has taken me to get back.

I tested the SIM card in a smartphone and it is not latching onto B1.

On the MR600 only B3 and B40 are now available for selection, where as earlier B1 was available and worked great with around 50mb download and 15mb upload speed.

My speed has reduced significantly now that B1 is not available. 

Yes, I tried to reboot and reset the router to see whether it made any difference but no luck.

Could it be that the carrier (Airtel) has simply made B1 unavailable recently? Is this common practice?

Hi,since the smartphone is not using Band 1 any more with the same SIM card, it should be caused by Carrier, maybe the Airtel has updated their base station in your area recently, it is recommended to contact the carrier to confirm it.
