Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20211222 rel.74632

This Article Applies to:

Archer AX73(US/CA/TW) V1 1.2.0 Build 20211222 rel.74632

Issue Description/Phenomenon:

After upgrading the router firmware to 1.2.0 Build 20211222 rel.74632, the devices (e.g. computers and phones) behind AX73 can no longer connect to the PPTP VPN Server. It used to work fine with the previous firmware. The typical topology is shown in the following picture.

When these devices connect directly to the ISP modem bypass AX73 or use mobile data, they can connect to the PPTP VPN Server without an issue.

Available Solutions:

1. Be sure the PPTP Passthrough is enabled on AX73. You could find it in the Advanced > Security > ALG page as follows:

2. If PPTP Passthrough is enabled on the router while the clients still fail to connect to the PPTP VPN Server, please download and install the following beta firmware to confirm if it helps.

Archer AX73_V1.0_220215

Note:

1. Please be sure you have read the Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding!

2. This beta version can be applied to the US/CA/TW versions.

Reply to let me know if this works.

  @Kevin_Z

Was having great difficult connecting to company VPN, could get it through cell phone hotspot, but not home AX-73.  This beta fixed the problem, now PPTP vpn is working great!

Thanks for your help.

That's good to know. @jimkee  Keep the beta firmware until we release a new official version. laugh
